Today, on November 21st, Mikrofonika – the company behind the VO+AI platform – filed Poland’s first lawsuit for voice theft involving AI technology. Mikrofonika and its legal team are representing a well-known voice actor and VO+AI project member, Jarosław Łukomski.
A lawsuit has been filed against a company affiliated with the water and sewage industry, accused of using a fabricated imitation of one of Poland’s top voice actors in their advertising materials. The case originates from May 2025, though the infringements began as early as November 2024. Commercials “featuring” Jarosław Łukomski were broadcast on the defendant’s social media channels without his knowledge or consent.
Under its agreements with the voice actors participating in the VO+AI project, Mikrofonika is obligated to respond to any AI-related violations of a voice actor’s rights. The company took immediate action upon receiving the report. The disputed materials were secured, and the defendant was formally requested to cease all infringements, publish an apology, and pay a symbolic amount in damages. Unfortunately, the company’s response left no doubt—they deny any wrongdoing or responsibility. They dispute the actor’s rights to his own voice, downplay his professional skills, and claim that AI technology is not legally regulated in Poland, implying they can use a voice actor’s likeness however they wish. Such a position could not remain unanswered.
In our view, we have an excellent legal team and strong moral, ethical, and of course legal grounds. We look forward to winning this case for Jarek. And we will do the same for every voice actor we have signed under the VO+AI project.
